Companies House have now confirmed the identity verification will be effective from 18 November 2025. This means that:
- From 18th November 2025 it becomes mandatory at incorporation or appointment for all new directors and PSCs to verify their identity.
- From 18th November 2025 there will be a 12-month transition period for all existing directors and PSCs to verify their identity, via the annual confirmation statement.
- From Spring 2026 it will be compulsory for all relevant individuals to verify their identity.
