Afsor is a Partner in the Real Estate team and heads the firm’s Islamic Finance practice, advising clients on a broad range of Sharia-compliant transactions and financing arrangements. He has spent the last decade of his career acting for financial institutions, property developers and private investors acquire, dispose and finance residential and commercial properties. His clients include shariah compliant bridging lenders, commercial banks and investors in the UK and from the Middle East. He is well versed in all Islamic finance structures used in property transactions.
As an established voice in Islamic Finance, he is regularly involved in writing articles, attending closed roundtable discussions regarding Islamic finance and regularly called upon to attend television interviews and video podcasts discussing all aspects pertaining to Islamic Finance.
He read law at University College London and qualified as a solicitor in 2014. He has spent his entire career working in the City with highly regarded teams ranked in the Legal 500. Afsor is the proud and busy father of four children and lives with his family in East London. When he can find the time, his interests include going to the gym and is a major movie buff. He also enjoys mentoring junior lawyers and law students.
