In preparation for the holidays, the Partners and staff at Druces have been collecting food items to donate to The Whitechapel Mission. Whilst the charity welcomes food donations throughout the year, there is a higher demand in winter and in the run up to Christmas.
The Whitechapel Mission has been working with homeless Londoners since 1876, providing everything from clean clothes to affordable accommodation. New figures reveal that 16,134 people were found to be sleeping rough in England in 2018/19, an increase of 32% on the previous year. We are proud to have supported the charity’s work for the past few years, particularly in light of the ongoing problem of homelessness throughout London and the rest of the UK.
Druces’ Senior Partner, Roy Campbell commented, ‘it is extremely saddening to see the statistics rising, knowing more and more Londoners are facing such hardship. This initiative has never been more important and we feel very dedicated to supporting our community now and in the future’.
