Druces have advised Grandir UK, a leading provider of Early Years education and childcare, on its acquisition of First Place Nurseries, which operates three well-established settings across Radlett, Bushey and Beaconsfield. The acquisition further strengthens Grandir UK’s network of over 90 locally led day nurseries and preschools across the UK.

The transaction was structured as a share acquisition, and drew on the expertise of Druces corporate, employment, tax, commercial, and real estate teams. The deal also included a significant construction aspect, requiring specialist support to ensure the transaction was delivered seamlessly and efficiently.

Paul Quartly, Growth Director at Grandir UK, commented:

“Druces were instrumental in supporting the acquisition of First Place Nurseries. Their guidance ensured we could manage a complex transition without losing what makes each nursery special, while maintaining continuity and reassurance for the children, families and staff who rely on them every day.

Claire Rigby, Partner at Druces LLP, commented:

“We’ve enjoyed working with the Grandir UK team again and this acquisition demonstrates Grandir UK’s strategic vision and commitment to expanding its market position. As the Nursery sector continues to grow and evolve, it represents real opportunities for investors.

We look forward to continuing our relationship with Grandir UK and working with them in the future.

The Druces deal team was led by Claire Rigby, Partner.
